Hans Ebersberger

Hans Ebersberger (born December 7, 1932 in Fürth ; † November 30, 2010 ) was a German football official .

Career

Ebersberger first learned the bakery trade and completed his training with the master's examination. He later worked as a teacher and until his retirement he headed the economics high school in Bayreuth. From 1975 and 1976 he was also the head of the vocational school and the adult education center in Bayreuth and chaired the master craftsman's examination committees of the Upper Franconian Chamber of Crafts for bakers and confectioners.

As a part-time job, his commitment was football. From 1948 he was active as an arbitrator and in 1959 he became an assessor of the district arbitration committee and district instructor in Central Franconia. This was followed by a steep career as a functionary within the Bavarian Football Association (BFV). From 1963 to 1971 he held the post of state instructor, from 1969 to 1976 he was chairman of the association referee committee and from 1976 to 1990 chairman of the association game committee. At the same time he was chairman of the examination committee for the acquisition of the Trainer B license in Bavaria.

At the German Football Association (DFB) he worked as a referee trainee for over 20 years and was responsible for advertising, image cultivation and recruiting on the DFB referee committee. At the same time he worked as an international delegate and match observer for UEFA and as an instructor for the world football association FIFA .

In order to promote school sport in the long term, he founded the Hans Ebersberger Foundation in 1998, which was converted into a legal foundation in 2007.

Honors

Ebersberger received numerous honors. In 2002 he was made an honorary member of the Bavarian Football Association. He also received the golden badge of honor and the bar of honor from the DFB, as well as the BFV Association badges in gold and silver. In December 2007 he was awarded the Medal of Honor of the Upper Franconia District. He was also the recipient of the Federal Cross of Merit, 1st class.
