Hans Edler (violin maker)

Hans Edler (born January 16, 1889 in Frankfurt am Main , † October 19, 1974 in Munich ) was a German violin maker and publicly appointed expert and official appraiser for violin making.

Career

Hans Edler initially worked in the violin-making company founded by his grandfather Friedrich Christian Edler (1819–1872) in Frankfurt in 1850. From 1919 he worked as an independent violin maker in Munich. He edited the fifth edition of the work Taxe of string instruments founded by Albert Fuchs (Frankfurt am Main 1955). He wrote the work How do I buy a violin? (1956).
