Hans Ernst (poet)

Hans Ernst (born November 9, 1904 in Munich ; † August 30, 1984 ) was a German homeland poet .

Hans Ernst grew up in Munich and became a farmhand near Fürstenfeldbruck at the age of 15 . At the end of the 1920s, he went on tour with a peasant theater and began writing. After the Second World War , he settled as a freelance writer in Kolbermoor , where he lived until his death.

Ernst wrote more than 100 novels as well as short stories and plays.

In his autobiography The Hand on the Plow , he described his path from a small family to become a successful folk writer.
