Hans Felix Husadel (born May 18, 1897 in Prenzlau in the Uckermark , † July 25, 1964 in Aulendorf ) was a German composer , professor and conductor .

Life

He received his first piano lessons at a young age and also had a special talent for painting. After the First World War he began his studies at the State University for Music in Berlin . In the subjects of piano and composition he studied with Franz Schreker and Leo Schrattenholz, among others .

In 1923 he joined the Reichswehr . From there he was assigned to complete his music master training at the State University of Music . He completed this in 1928 with the exam. Then he received the order to take over the leadership of the music corps in the training battalion of the 14th (Baden) Infantry Regiment in Donaueschingen . The concerts of the Musikkorps found themselves very quickly on the radio. In Donaueschingen he also came into contact with amateur music and became the conductor of the orchestral association that was very successful there. Even then he made a name for himself with the reformed orchestral line-up and the creation of an authentic literature for it, including those responsible for military music.

In 1935 he was appointed to the Air Force Ministry and was commissioned to reorganize an Air Force Music. There was also a teaching position for theory and composition at the music academy in Berlin.

In the post-war years, the composer worked as a theater conductor in Berlin and Stendal . To this end, he formed a symphonic wind orchestra in Berlin, with which he played demanding works of brass music literature at the now famous "zoo concerts". In 1953, Husadel first moved his working group to Ravensburg in Upper Swabia , where he founded his own publishing house, and later to the neighboring vineyard . As music director of the local municipal orchestra, he died on July 25, 1964 in a competition in Aulendorf at the conductor's podium.

Husadel created over 300 compositions and arrangements in the course of his life.
