Hans Ferlitsch (politician, 1946)

Hans Ferlitsch (born May 17, 1946 ) is an Austrian state official and politician ( SPÖ ). Ferlitsch was a member of the Carinthian state parliament from 1994 to 2009 and has been mayor of Sankt Stefan im Gailtal since 1985 . He was also a member of the Federal Council between 1993 and 1994 .

education and profession

Ferlitsch attended elementary school in Sankt Stefan im Gailtal from 1952 to 1957 and then switched to secondary school in Nötsch im Gailtal and Hermagor . Ferlitsch learned the trade of machine fitter from 1961 to 1965 and passed the skilled worker examination. He did military service from 1965 to 1966 and from 1966 to 1993 he worked for the Gail construction management in Hermagor (later designation: Office of the Carinthian Provincial Government Section 18 - Water Management, Sub-section Hermagor). From 1976 he was also chairman of the staff representative. In 1993 Ferlitsch took leave of absence due to his political activities.

Ferlitsch was from 1973 to 1993 chairman of the SPÖ organization of Sankt Stefan im Gailtal and was district party chairman of the SPÖ Hermagor from 1993 to 2007. He was Vice Mayor of St. Stefan from 1973 to 1985 and was elected mayor in 1985. Ferlitsch has also been President of the Carinthian Association of Municipalities since 1996 and represented the state of Carinthia in the Federal Council between March 25, 1993 and April 19, 1994 as an SPÖ mandate.

From April 19, 1994 Ferlitsch was a member of the Carinthian Landtag, and in 1999 he was elected 2nd President of the Landtag. From 2005 to 2008 he was chairman of the Red Cross in the Hermagor district. Ferlitsch ran in the municipal council election in 2009 , but not in the state election .

Private

Ferlitsch has been married since 1965 and is the father of a son (* 1966) and a daughter (* 1967).
