history
The place is known as a blow place for quartzite -Tools from the time of the Palaeolithic to the Neolithic .
Lenderscheid was first mentioned in 1196 as "Lenterscheit" and, like many other settlements in this region, belonged to the Premonstratensian Monastery of Spieskappel in the 12th century as a farm . religion
The two evangelical reformed communities Lenderscheid and Großropperhausen form a parish . The two districts of Lanertshausen and Siebertshausen also belong to the parish of Lenderscheid .
Culture and sights
Buildings
The Protestant church in Lenderscheid was built between 1735 and 1740 in the Baroque style with a mansard roof and a two-tier, octagonal roof turret. The pulpit dates from the time the church was built. The stalls in the nave and in the galleries were renewed in the second half of the 20th century. The organ prospect dates from 1787 and is located centrally above the three-sided gallery. You enter the church through the portal in the west, another portal on the north side is walled up. On the southeast side, a staircase leads to the patronage box of the von Baumbach family, which is decorated with their coat of arms . In the bell cage there are three bells dated 1965. They have the tones d ", f" and g "and were cast in Sinn together with the four Großropperhäuser bells by the Rincker bell and art foundry .
In the immediate vicinity of the church is the manor house of the former Baumbach farm , which is no longer managed today .
