Ober Grenzebach is a district of the municipality of Frielendorf in the Schwalm-Eder district in northern Hesse .

Geographical location

Ober Grenzebach is just 6.5 km south-southwest of the Frielendorf core town in the western foothills of the Knüll Mountains on the eastern Schwalm tributary Grenzebach . Through the village extending national road  3155 ( Niedergrenzebach -Obergrenzebach- Seigertshausen ). The church is in the middle of the village .

history

The place is first mentioned in a document in 1015.

In the course of the regional reform in Hesse , from December 31, 1971 to December 31, 1973, the communities of Leimsfeld , Oberbegrenzebach and Schönborn formed the community Grenzebach . This went on January 1, 1974 in the municipality of Frielendorf.
