history

Church by Peter Zindel

The village was first mentioned in a document in 1197 in a document from the Spieskappel monastery (documents A II). The church was renovated between 1866 and 1868 in neo-Gothic style based on designs by Peter Zindel . In 1928 parts of the disbanded manor district of Forst Neukirchen were incorporated.

In the course of the regional reform in Hesse , Seigertshausen was incorporated into Neukirchen by state law on January 1, 1974 and has therefore been a district of Neukirchen since then.

Coat of arms / symbol

The Seigertshausen symbol: a brake ("Brähme")

Seigertshausen itself does not have a coat of arms . A brake (Schwälmer Platt: "Brähme") is often used as a symbol . This can be explained in such a way that in Seigertshausen and in the immediate vicinity there is a larger occurrence of brakes and they are therefore typical of the area.

Also from local associations such. B. the fraternity, this symbol is used in their own club logo.
