Peter Zindel

Peter Zindel (born September 26, 1841 in Hundelshausen (Hesse) , † February 18, 1902 in Essen ) was a German architect of historicism . He was particularly known for his church buildings, buildings based on his designs were mainly built in the Ruhr area .

Life

Zindel studied at the higher commercial school in Kassel with Georg Gottlob Ungewitter . In 1862 he worked for the Paderborn diocesan master builder Arnold Güldenpfennig . In 1864 he succeeded his teacher Ungewitter at the higher trade school in Kassel. In 1871 he went to Essen and worked there as a self-employed, freelance architect, initially in partnership with Julius Flügge until 1876 .

  • 1885–1887: Evangelical church in Ümmingen in Laer , Wittener Straße (demolished in 1975)
  • 1886–1889: Evangelical Luther Church in Hörde , Semerteichstrasse
  • 1886–1894: Catholic parish church St. Joseph in Gelsenkirchen-Schalke, Kurt-Schumacher-Straße (changed after war damage)
  • 1898–1899: Office building Weitmar in Weitmar , Hattinger Strasse 389
  • 1898–1901: first and second construction phase of the bank building of the Essener Credit-Anstalt in Essen, Lindenallee / Maxstraße (extended in 1905 and 1908, gutted around 1996 and new facades built behind)
  • 1900: Evangelical Church of the Resurrection in Oberhausen-Osterfeld , Vestische Straße
