history

The place was first mentioned in 1162 in the property registers of the Immichenhain monastery . The place belonged to the court on the Wasen and to the office of Ziegenhain until 1360, possibly also 1367, until the formation of the Neukirchen court . In the years 1308 and 1326, the Lords of Rückershausen confirmed that they had sold their goods and income to the Immichenhain monastery. In 1318 the monastery inherited its property in Nausis to Dietrich (called de Berenbach) . In 1358 the monastery received a validity for the light of the monastery, which is intended for the light of the monastery. The Hersfeld Monastery pledged income from Nausis to the Immichenhain Monastery in 1364 and 1367. 1473 Landgrave agreed William I of Hesse with the monastery Immichenhain and the men of the village about the fact that these goods with hereditary fief were and they had this to leave the monastery's mill Nausis. The Landgraviate of Hesse was exempted from all services. With the secularization of Immichenhain Monastery in 1527, the village mill fell to the Landgraviate. From 1585 the tithe in Nausis was to be paid to the Landgraviate. In 1749 this mill had an overshot grinding and beating gear.

A textile manufacturer built a factory in 1969, which was expanded in 1992.

In anticipation of the regional reform in Hesse , representatives of the municipality of Nausis agreed on October 22, 1971 with the city of Neukirchen to integrate it into the city with effect from December 31, 1971. This agreement also applied to the Wincherode district, which had previously belonged to Nausis . With effect from January 1, 1974, Nausis became part of the newly formed Schwalm-Eder district as a district of Neukirchen. In 2007, around 360 people lived in the Nausis district of the city of Neukirchen.

Nausis had its own train station on the former Bad Hersfeld – Treysa railway , the Knüllwaldbahn , which opened on July 31, 1907. On June 1, 1984, the German Federal Railroad finally stopped passenger traffic on the line. The Treysa railroad friends still used the disused route for historic steam train journeys. After its closure in September 2007, the railway line was converted into a cycle path, the Knüllwaldbahn cycle path R 11.

In 2012 Nausis celebrated its 850th anniversary.
