Wincherode is the smallest district of the city of Neukirchen in the Schwalm-Eder district in Hesse . The village is part of the Nausis district .

Wincherode is located on the western edge of the Knüllgebirge . It's in the Schwalm . The village is about 3 km south of the core town of Neukirchen. The next largest cities are Kassel (about 50 kilometers north), Marburg (about 40 kilometers west), Fulda (about 40 kilometers south-east) and Bad Hersfeld (about 25 kilometers east).

history

The village was first mentioned in a document in 1309. In 1311, however, the village was referred to as a desert .

On December 31, 1971, the previously independent community of Nausis , to which Wincherode belonged, was incorporated into Neukirchen as part of the regional reform in Hesse .
