Gebersdorf is a district of the municipality of Frielendorf in the Schwalm-Eder district in northern Hesse .

Gebersdorf is located southwest of the main town on the western edge of the Knüll Mountains . The Hermesbach flows on the eastern edge of the village, and the federal road 254 runs to the west of the village . To the south there was a stop on the Treysa-Malsfeld-Eschwege railway line , on which passenger traffic was discontinued in 1981.

history

The place was first mentioned in 1197 as Geifridesdorf . Thereafter, the place name appears in historical documents in changing forms over the centuries: Geverstorp (1250), Gerwersdorf (1262), Geibersdorf (1270), Gebirzdorf (1389).

In 1928 part of the dissolved Frielendorf manor district was incorporated into Gebersdorf.

On December 31, 1971, the place was incorporated into the municipality of Frielendorf as part of the regional reform in Hesse .
