Hans Hörmann (politician)

Hans Hörmann (born August 7, 1926 in Penzberg ; † July 29, 2011 in Freiburg im Breisgau ) was a German politician ( SPD ).

Life and work

After attending elementary school and high school, Hörmann was drafted into the Wehrmacht and took part in World War II as a soldier from 1943 to 1945 . At the end of the war he was first captured by the US and after his transfer he was in French captivity, from which he was released in 1948.

Hörmann worked as a miner in Penzberg in 1949/50 and then completed an apprenticeship as an industrial clerk in Munich , which he completed in 1952 with the assistant test. In 1953 he attended the Dortmund Social Academy and had been the head of the IG Bergbau und Energie office in Freiburg im Breisgau since 1954 . Since 1958 he has also acted as a judge at the Freiburg Labor Court and as a youth lay judge at the Grand Criminal Chamber. From 1974 to 1985 he worked for the main association of IG mining and energy in Bochum .

Political party

Hörmann joined the SPD in 1952, was first deputy chairman from 1955 to 1959 and then from 1960 to 1972 chairman of the Freiburg SPD branch.

MP

Hörmann was a city councilor in Freiburg from 1959 to 1965. He was a member of the German Bundestag from 1961 to 1972. He was always drawn into parliament via the Baden-Württemberg state list.
