Hans Hübner (born February 6, 1937 in Belzig ) is a German cultural scientist and author.

Life

Hans Hübner was born in Belzig in 1937 as the son of a housewife and a carpenter . His father was imprisoned in Oranienburg concentration camp in 1933/34 . First he completed an apprenticeship as a company and transport railroader and worked as a transport policeman and baggage worker. After studying at the technical school for librarians in Leipzig from 1958 to 1961, he headed the library in Brandenburg an der Havel , where he organized numerous rounds of talks and discussions with cultural workers. At the same time, he completed a distance learning course in cultural studies at the Humboldt University in Berlin , which he successfully completed in 1971.

After completing his studies, he worked from 1970 to 1975 as a research assistant at the Central Institute for Libraries in Berlin. Hans Hübner worked for two years as a cultural worker and library manager on the Soyuz natural gas route in the Ukraine . He then worked as an editor at the publishing house for agitation and visual media.

Hans Hübner repeatedly researched the life of the Berlin artist Helen Ernst , about whom he published several times. His collection of caricatures about Karl Marx formed the basis for the book Grüss Gott! Here I am! that he put together with Rolf Hecker .
