Hans Heinrich von Witzleben

Hans Heinrich von Witzleben (born June 8, 1713 in Rackith ; † December 10, 1771 in Gaditz ) was head of the Leipzig district from 1754 to 1763 .

He came from the Thuringian noble family von Witzleben and was the son of Raban Heinrich von Witzleben (1673–1757) on Rackith. He himself was the master of Gaditz, Ateritz and Cospuden . Witzleben was suspended from service due to criminal injustices in the Seven Years' War and on February 4, 1765, Prince Xaver of Saxony finally relieved of his position as district chief. He withdrew to the Gaditz family estate, where he died in 1771 and was buried on December 13th in the church of Gommlo . He left behind the five sons Hans Ernst Ferdinand, Hans Friedrich Wilhelm, Hans Heinrich Ludwig, Friedrich August Christian and Dietrich Heinrich Eugenius von Witzleben and four daughters.
