Ateritz is a district of the city of Kemberg in the district of Wittenberg in Saxony-Anhalt (Germany).

geography

Ateritz is about 15 km south of Lutherstadt Wittenberg on the edge of the Dübener Heide nature reserve . Gommlo and Lubast were designated as districts of the former municipality .

history

On July 1, 1950, the previously independent communities Gommlo and Lubast were incorporated.

On January 1, 2006, it was incorporated into Kemberg. Alfred Strube worked as honorary mayor from 1994 to 2005. An earlier spelling of the place name was Aderitz .

Buildings

The Romanesque stone church was built around 1200, destroyed in the Thirty Years' War, and when it was rebuilt it received a renaissance tower . It is located in the Gommlo district.

Economy and Infrastructure

Ateritz is on the district road K 2414, which connects the federal road 2 (Lutherstadt Wittenberg - Bad Düben ) with Gommlo. The distance from the center of Ateritz to the B 2 is about 1 km.
