history

Village church Eutzsch, 1688 on behalf of the University of Wittenberg presumably by Wolf Caspar von Klengel built

In 965 Eutzsch was first mentioned in a document as Usizi .

On July 1, 1950, the previously independent municipality of Pannigkau was incorporated as a district.

On January 1, 2010, the previously independent municipality of Eutzsch was incorporated into the city of Kemberg together with the municipalities of Dabrun , Rackith , Radis , Rotta , Schleesen , Selbitz , Uthausen and Wartenburg . At the same time the administrative community Kemberg , to which Eutzsch belonged, was dissolved.

Economy and Infrastructure

traffic

The Federal Highway 2 , the Wittenberg and Bad Duben combines, ran until 2019 directly by the municipality. The federal road 100 to Halle (Saale) branches off from the B 2 at a roundabout southeast of the town. The town's main street has been swiveled to the north and south, preventing the massive through traffic of the last few decades from continuing.

The single-track railway line Pratau – Bad Schmiedeberg with the Eutzsch stop was closed in 2014. In the summer of 2016 and 2017, passenger trains from the Heide-Bahn to Eilenburg again ran on the route on weekends .
