Hans Hladnik

Hans Hladnik (born December 24, 1899 in Köflach , Styria , † September 17, 1951 in Graz , Styria) was an Austrian politician ( SPÖ ).

Life

Hans Hladnik pursued many professions in his life. After attending primary school, he learned the trade of bricklayer , but was also a construction manager or earned his living as an unskilled worker in a bakery in Voitsberg . As a young man he was secretary of the Styrian Socialist Workers' Youth.

In 1934 Hladnik emigrated ; first to Great Britain and later to Yugoslavia . In England he was one of the members of the Free Austrian Movement , the Austrian Committee for Post War Relief and the London Bureau of the Austrian Socialists in Great Britain . In 1946 Hladnik returned to Austria.

In November 1949, Hladnik entered the Federal Council in Vienna for the SPÖ . He belonged to it until his death in September 1951.
