Hans Joachim Wefeld

Hans Joachim "Johnny" Wefeld (born December 9, 1926 , † August 25, 2001 ) was a Berlin chronicler .

From the model making company he came to the National Socialist Aviation Corps (NSFK) for glider training in the Berlin area. In 1943 he was assigned to the flak as an air force helper. After his application as a war volunteer , he started training on the Me 163 rocket fighter .

Supported by his wife Helga, he obtained a Dipl.-Ing. From the Technical University of Applied Sciences Berlin (TFH). and from 1950 at the TU Berlin the business graduate. Here, after having been a member of the Berlin air sports club Lilienthal since 1948 , he joined the Academic Aviation Group at the Technical University of Berlin . For 15 years he worked in a leading position in West Berlin companies and then for 18 years as a university professor for business administration at the TFH Berlin, where he also managed the university's historical archive.

Wefeld was a member of Akaflieg Berlin and, as a board member, had a decisive influence on the first years of the association after its re-establishment in 1950, was its archivist since 1975 and chairman of the old ladies and gentlemen from 1985. He took part in the construction and operation of the glider airfield in Kammermark near Pritzwalk and in 1997 was appointed honorary chairman of the association.
