Karl Kasberger

Karl Kasberger (born August 21, 1891 in Vienna , † June 14, 1969 in Thalheim near Wels ) was an Austrian painter.

Kasberger was educated at the graphic teaching and research institute and at the arts and crafts school in Vienna; his teacher was Oskar Strnad . He specialized in the areas of “stage and film”. After moving to Wels, he became a city set designer. From 1942 he was also a member of the city of Wels' theater advisory board. Kasberger also painted numerous city and landscape views in oil and in watercolor. In 1919 he published a series of postcards with Wels motifs. The publishing house Eugen Friedhuber, founded in 1937, brought out a series of eight picture cards on stations in Hitler's life based on pictures by Kasberger during the Hitler era .

Kasberger also designed frescoes on behalf of the public . In 1920 the Steinhaus community decided to issue emergency money based on Kasberger's designs. Kasberger created a title drawing for the illustrated magazine Bergland , which in 1927 adorned number 6 of the 9th year.

In the municipal office in Thalheim there is a depiction of the place by Kasberger. The Wels City Museum owns several works by Kasberger.
