Hans Kaufmann (archivist)

Hans Oskar Kaufmann (born July 13, 1928 in Solothurn ; † March 5, 2014 in Langendorf SO ) was a Swiss archivist .

Kaufmann received his doctorate in 1963 from the University of Zurich with a thesis on the problem of natural spatial structure, and since 1964 he has been head of department at the main library of the ETH Zurich . From 1971 to 1991 Kaufmann was the city archivist and city librarian in Grenchen . In 1991 he was awarded the Chappeli-Tüfel , an award for outstanding personalities in the city of Grenchen. In 2000 he was made an honorary member of the Historical Society of the Canton of Solothurn . In 2004, Hans Kaufmann received the Regiobank Solothurn's literature prize and, in 2007, the city ​​of Grenchen's culture prize . He died on March 5, 2014 in his parents' house in Langendorf .
