Hans Kindermann (sculptor)
Hans Kindermann (born May 21, 1911 in Mainz , † May 11, 1997 in Gleishorbach ) was a German sculptor .
biography
From 1925 to 1929 Kindermann attended the State School for Arts and Crafts in Mainz. From 1929 he worked as a painter and sculptor in Mainz. From 1933 to 1938 he attended the Düsseldorf Art Academy as a master student of Alexander Zschokke . In 1944 he moved to Hemmenhofen on Lake Constance. For a time he maintained a studio community here with his friend Erich Heckel . From 1957 to 1976 Kindermann was professor at the State Academy of Fine Arts in Karlsruhe , from 1963 to 1971 also its rector . He also led the sculpture class on Stephanienstraße in Karlsruhe, the "Sculptor Garden". In 1978 he was awarded the Great Federal Cross of Merit.
Kindermann designed the fountain of the German Pavilion at the 1958 World Exhibition in Brussels. The eagle relief in the building of the Federal Constitutional Court , which Kindermann created in 1969, is also known.
Kindermann was with the painter Grete Kindermann, geb. Krahl, married.
