Hans Lauter (psychiatrist)

Hans Lauter (* 1928 in Düsseldorf ) is a German psychiatrist .

Life

Hans Lauter, son of a Düsseldorf senior physician, studied medicine in Zurich , Frankfurt am Main and Munich . He completed his habilitation with Joachim-Ernst Meyer in Göttingen. In 1978 he was offered a position at the Technical University of Munich , where he was the head of the psychiatric clinic until 1996. His successor was Hans Förstel.

He is one of the co-founders of the German Alzheimer's Society . In 1987 Lauter was elected a member of the Leopoldina .
