Hans Mayr (born September 27, 1960 ) is an Austrian politician (formerly TEAM and ÖVP ) and bank employee. From 2008 to 2013 he was mayor of the municipality of Goldegg im Pongau and from June 2013 to the end of January 2018 he was state councilor in the regional government of Haslauer junior. I . On January 31, 2018, he was sworn in as the successor to Gabriele Fürhapter as a member of the Salzburg state parliament . After the state elections in Salzburg in 2018 , he left the state parliament.

education and profession

Mayr attended the elementary school in Lend afterwards the secondary school Lend. He then graduated from the business school in St. Johann im Pongau and then learned the profession of banker at the Raiffeisenkasse St. Johann im Pongau. He also trained there as a marketing trainer. Mayr worked as a banker from 1978, where he became branch manager at HYPO Salzburg in 1986 . As of March 31, 2013, he retired from this position.

In August 2018 he was presented as managing director of the Kainz Group, a company that operates as a property developer and real estate business with several subsidiaries. In summer 2019 he was recalled as managing director. In August 2019 he founded a property development company together with another partner.

politics

Mayr became involved in the Young People's Party in Goldegg from 1977. In 2004 Mayr returned to politics as a member of the Goldegg municipal council, where he belonged to the ÖVP parliamentary group. In spring 2008 Mayr was chosen as the successor to Mayor Ammerer and as the top candidate of the ÖVP Goldegg in the municipal council elections in 2009, where he took over the office of mayor on April 30, 2008. Within the party, Mayr sought to become district chairman of the Pongau ÖVP after the previous ÖVP district chairman died in 2001. Party leader Wilfried Haslauer junior prevented Mayr's rise within the party in 2012. At the end of February 2013, Mayr left the ÖVP, criticizing the People's Party as a coalition partner in the state government and confirming that it shared responsibility for the Salzburg speculation scandal. He subsequently joined the Stronach team and was elected chairman of the Salzburg regional group on March 26, 2013, and presented as the top candidate for the 2013 state elections the following day . After the Stronach team had won three mandates in the 2013 election, a coalition was formed between the ÖVP, the Greens and the Stronach team, with Hans Mayr being elected by the state parliament on June 19, 2013 as the regional councilor for transport, infrastructure and housing. After his election he resigned as mayor.

Mayr left the Stronach team on November 23, 2015, but remained a state councilor. On April 21, 2016, he founded the Salzburg Citizens' Community (SBG), with which he ran for the 2018 state elections, with 1.75%, however, well below the threshold of 5%. On January 15, 2018, he announced his resignation as regional councilor on January 30, 2018. He was succeeded as regional councilor on January 31, 2018, by Brigitta Pallauf, President of the State Parliament (ÖVP). After the state elections in Salzburg in 2018 , he left the state parliament. In September 2018, the UBS was dissolved by the general assembly.

Private

Mayr grew up on his parents' farm. His family has been based in Goldegg since 1631. His great uncle Josef Mayr was mayor of Goldegg himself for 17 years, his cousin Simon Hetz mayor of Puch. Mayr is married and has three children.

Mayr has been a member of the Goldegg traditional music band since he was thirteen and plays the flugelhorn. He became chairman of TMK Goldegg in 1993 and district chairman of the 33 Pongau brass bands in 1997. He initiated the "Symphony of Hope", with which the history of Goldegg and the Pongau during the Nazi era was dealt with in 2005.
