Hans Neleman

Hans Neleman (* 1960 in Rotterdam , Holland ) is a Dutch painter , photographer , commercial artist and director of music videos and commercials .

biography

Growing up and going to school in the Netherlands, Hans Neleman studied anthroposophy for a year at a Rudolf Steiner School in Holland. From 1979 he studied at the Faculty of Fine Arts at Goldsmith's College and then photography at the Polytechnic of Central London , where he graduated in 1983 with a Bachelor of Arts Honors degree. He then moved to the United States and graduated in 1984 with a Master of Art from New York University . In 1985 he opened his first studio in New York and has been working as a freelance artist ever since.

The advertising industry became aware of him during his student days. Since then he has worked for American Express , Coca-Cola , IBM , Lexus and Nike , among others. He also designed book and record covers. From 1993 to 1995 he directed the clips for the music tracks Wünsch DIR was , Alles aus Liebe , Kauf MICH! , everyone from the album buy me! , the title Sexual and Nothing Remains for Eternity from the album Opium fürs Volk by Die Toten Hosen . Neleman has taught at the University of New York, the School of Visual Arts and the International Center of Photography. He exhibited his still life and portrait photographs internationally and received numerous awards. His current studio is in Soho, New York .
