Hans Nordmann (engineer)

Hans Nordmann (born January 14, 1879 in Halberstadt ; † November 17, 1957 ) was a German engineer in the field of railways.

Life

From 1922 Nordmann was head of research and later department president at the Reichsbahn Central Office in Berlin. There he was involved with Richard Paul Wagner in the development of the standard steam locomotives for the Deutsche Reichsbahn-Gesellschaft . He was essentially responsible for the content, the process and the evaluation of the test series carried out in the Grunewald Locomotive Research Office, of which he was the head. He later worked in the Reichsbahn Central Office in Göttingen.

From 1942 Hans Nordmann was a member of the Royal Prussian Academy of Sciences (from 1946 German Academy of Sciences ), in 1949 he was a member of the Technical Sciences class .

Hans Nordmann was honorary professor for the areas of railway operation and testing at the Technical University of Berlin . His achievements were recognized with the award of an honorary doctorate to Dr. Ing. Honored anyway.
