Hans Ortner (born November 9, 1943 in Zell am See , Austria; † November 21, 1994 in Paderborn ) was an Austro-German painter and sculptor.

biography

In 1952, Hans Ortner moved from Zell am See to Düsseldorf. In 1961 he took part in the summer academy in Salzburg with Oskar Kokoschka . After graduating from high school in 1965, he studied drawing and sculpture at the Düsseldorf Art Academy in 1964/65 with Karl Bobek and painting with Kurt Arnscheidt from 1966 to 1969 . At the Art Academy in Rome, Hans Ortner studied sculpture with Pericle Fazzini in 1965/66 . In 1970 he married Renate Ortner, b. Weede, in Düsseldorf. From 1972 until his death in 1994 he lived in Paderborn and taught painting and sculpture at the University of Paderborn . In 2019, the Hans-Ortner-Weg in Paderborn was named after him.
