Hans Pässler

Hans Heinrich Pässler (born July 14, 1940 in Dresden ; † January 21, 2018 ) was a German surgeon and university professor .

Life

Pässler studied medicine in Kiel from 1961 to 1967, and passed his state examination and doctorate in 1967. From 1967 to 1969 he was an assistant doctor in the Krehlklinik of the University of Heidelberg . 1969 to 1970 he was a fellow under the cardiac surgeon Michael DeBakey . From 1970 to 1972 he worked as a research assistant at the University of Ulm , Clinic for Surgery. Between 1973 and 1977 he worked as a senior physician in Lindau and Frankfurt am Main. During this time he became a specialist in trauma surgery. From 1978 to 1992 he was medical director of the district hospital in Bopfingen .

From 1986 Pässler was Vice President of the Collège Européenne de Traumatologie du Sport (CETS). In 1992 he taught as a visiting professor at the University of Pittsburgh before he was appointed chief physician at the Stuttgart Sports Clinic until 1993. In the same year he co-founded the European Federation of National Societies for Orthopedic Sports Medicine (EFOST).

From 1993 Pässler became an attending physician at the ATOS Practice Clinic in Heidelberg, and between 1997 and 2000 he was also the medical director there. In 2001, Pässler became Visiting Professor in the Department of Orthopedic Surgery at the University of Ioannina . In 2002 he was visiting professor at the Chinese General Hospital PLA Beijing. In 2003 he taught as a visiting professor at the University of Athens and in 2005 he became a visiting professor at the University of Perugia . From 2009 Pässler was a professor at the North Hesse University of Cooperative Education for physiotherapy with a bachelor's degree .

In 2011 Pässler founded the Internet portal Caution! Operation through which patients can obtain a second telemedical opinion before an operation or treatment. In 2012 he was a co-founder of Medexo GmbH ( Medical Experts Online ), the work of Caution! Operation continued under a new name.
