Hans Ræder
Hans Henning Ræder (born October 11, 1869 in Copenhagen ; † June 4, 1959 there ) was a Danish classical philologist .
Together with Anders Bjørn Drachmann , William Norvin and Ada Adler, he belonged to the circle of the important Danish philologist Johan Ludvig Heiberg (1854–1928), who drove forward a large-scale edition project on the technical literature of the ancient Greeks. Ræder edited the works of Theodoret and Oreibasios . He and his staff were in close, friendly contact with German classical philology, especially with Ulrich von Wilamowitz-Moellendorff and his students.
Ræder's other editing projects related to Tycho Brahe and Saxo Grammaticus . He made particular contributions to the life and work of the philosopher Plato , on whom he published numerous individual studies in Danish and German.
