Hans Rau (politician, 1916)

Hans Rau (born March 23, 1916 in Munich , † January 24, 1986 in Weilheim in Upper Bavaria ) was a German politician ( CSU ).

Rau attended elementary and secondary school, did an apprenticeship as a painter and successfully passed the master's examination in 1938. He then did his labor service and served in the military before he was a Soviet prisoner of war for four and a half years . In 1953 he took over his painting business independently. In 1952 he was elected to the Weilheim city council, a year later he became parliamentary leader there. In 1956 he was elected to the district council. From 1958 to 1974 he represented the Weilheim constituency in the Bavarian state parliament as a directly elected member .
