Hans Ritschl
Hans Wilhelm Ritschl (born December 19, 1897 in Bonn , † November 13, 1993 in Oberried / Breisgau ) was a German economist .
After studying economics in Freiburg im Breisgau and Bonn, he received his doctorate in 1921 with a thesis on the early communism of the Munster Anabaptists . In 1925 he completed his habilitation in Göttingen . In 1928 he was appointed full professor of public finance in Basel , in 1942 in Strasbourg , and finally in 1946 in Hamburg , where he held the chair for theoretical economics, public finance and transport science until his retirement in 1967. He taught in Basel a. a. also financial sociology.
After 1945, Ritschl tried to be an active member of several committees of what he believed to be the neglected community economy and the cooperative system . In addition, he campaigned for a shift in long-distance freight transport to rail.
From 1950 to 1975 he was a member of the Scientific Advisory Board at the Federal Ministry of Finance .
Ritschl was a main proponent of the theory of the dualistic economic order, which considers a coexistence of state-controlled public economy and private market economy to be necessary.
