Hans Sallmutter

Hans Sallmutter (born January 20, 1945 in Passail near Weiz ( Styria )) is an Austrian trade unionist and politician .

Life

From 1994 to 2005 he was chairman of the trade union for private employees and vice-president of the Austrian Federation of Trade Unions (from 1995). The member of the SPÖ was President of the Main Association of Austrian Social Insurance Institutions from 1997 to 2001 .

As one of the most important actors in the Austrian social partnership , he significantly influenced the political discussions on many socio-political issues in Austria.

Today Hans Sallmutter is the honorary chairman of the private employees' union.
