Hans Collector

Hans Collector (born September 12, 1900 in Zeitz ; † November 11, 1946 ) was a German local politician ( SPD , SED ). He was the district administrator of the Auerbach district in Vogtland . He was executed by the Soviet occupying forces in 1946.

Life

The collector, who came from the Prussian province of Saxony , became an administrative employee at the AOK . In 1924 he joined the SPD. In 1941 he joined the NSDAP and in 1945 became a member of the SPD again. After the end of the Second World War, he was appointed District Administrator of the Auerbach District, withholding his NSDAP membership . As a delegate, he took part on 20./21. April 1946 participated in the founding party convention of the SED in Berlin. When he returned to Auerbach, he only stayed in the district administration for a few weeks. He was arrested on June 2, 1946 and sentenced to death by shooting on September 7, 1946. His request for clemency was rejected in autumn 1946. The execution may have taken place in Zwickau .

Hans Collector was rehabilitated in 1999.
