Hans Schnorr von Carolsfeld (born August 21, 1862 in Munich ; † May 16, 1933 there ) was a German librarian .

His father was Karl Schnorr von Carolsfeld , from 1886 to 1895 General Director of the Bavarian State Railways . He attended the Ludwigs-Gymnasium in Munich and then studied classical philology at the University of Munich , where he received his doctorate in 1886. From 1885 he worked at the Court and State Library in Munich , initially as an intern, from 1886 as an assistant, from 1887 as a secretary. In 1892 he became senior librarian at the University Library in Munich . In 1908 he moved back to the State Library, where he was appointed Director in 1909 and General Director of what is now the Bavarian State Library in 1920. In 1929 he retired.
