Hans Waltersdorfer

Hans Waltersdorfer (born August 3, 1962 in Bad Gleichenberg , Styria ) is the Austrian composer of Neuer Geistlicher Lieder.

After graduating from high school in 1980, he entered the Franciscan order . He studied theology in Vienna . In 1989 he resigned from the order and married in 1991. From 1993 to 1997 Waltersdorfer was theological assistant in the House of Silence , then two years pastoral assistant in the Leibnitz parish , since autumn 1999 he has been working again as theological assistant in the House of Silence. Waltersdorfer taught himself to play the guitar from the age of 15 and from 1980 onwards he created numerous New Spiritual Songs .
