Hans Weddo from Glümer

Hans Weddo von Glümer (born August 18, 1867 in Pyritz ; † after 1915) was a Prussian sculptor.

Life

His parents were Weddo von Glümer (1811-1891) and Bertha von Borries.

Glümer was a student at the School of Applied Arts and was a master student of Reinhold Begas at the Berlin School of Sculpture . He worked in Berlin from 1884 . Glümer took part in many exhibitions and mostly made portrait busts and monuments, etc. a. in Zeitz and Magdeburg .

Hans Weddo von Glümer created a. a. the following works:

Glümer took part in the competition between five artists to erect the equestrian monument in Windhoek (Namibia). The model he submitted shows a German soldier who has dismounted from his horse and presents himself with legs apart and a swollen chest in a victory pose. Behind him, under the horse, lies a dead African. His model was not chosen, however.
