Hans Wocken

Hans Wocken (* 1943 in Rütenbrock ) is a German educational scientist and special education teacher who advocates common schooling for all children and inclusion as a human right .

Life

Hans Wocken was born in 1943 in Rütenbrock (today incorporated in Haren (Ems) ) and studied education at the University of Vechta and special education in Dortmund . He worked as a research assistant in Dortmund and Cologne and from 1980 to 2008 was professor for education for people with learning disabilities at the University of Hamburg .

Wocken is primarily concerned with the joint schooling of children with and without disabilities ( integrative pedagogy ). He initiated and accompanied several school trials in Hamburg . In this context, he also deals with teaching methods (e.g. open teaching ), teacher training (e.g. team teaching and cooperation ), special educational support centers and the sociology of disability.
