Hans Zischler

Hans Zischler (* 1957 ) is a German biologist and has been a professor at the Institute for Anthropology and Dean of the Department of Biology at Johannes Gutenberg University Mainz since 2002 .

Career

After studying biology in Hohenheim and Tübingen , Zischler received his doctorate in 1991 at the Max Planck Institute for Psychiatry . His dissertation dealt with the analysis of genetic individuality . He then worked at the Max Planck Institute for Psychiatry and the Ludwig Maximilians University in Munich . In 1997 Zischler moved to the German Primate Center as head of the Primate Genetics working group . Zischler has been Professor of Anthropology at Johannes Gutenberg University Mainz since 2002 . Zischler researched the ancestry of the Koboldmakis and deals with the analysis of evolutionary patterns and processes within the divergence of non-human primates and humans.
