Hans de Koster (born November 5, 1914 in Leiden , † November 24, 1992 in Wassenaar ) was a Dutch politician of the Volkspartij voor Vrijheid en Democratie .

Life

Koster studied economics. He became a member of the Volkspartij voor Vrijheid en Democratie . From 1971 to 1973 Koster was the successor to Willem den Toom of the Dutch Defense Minister in the government cabinet of Barend Biesheuvel . He was succeeded as Defense Minister by Henk Vredeling . After his ministerial tenure, Koster was a member of the Second Chamber of the States General from 1973 to 1977 and from 1977 to 1980 Koster was a member of the First Chamber of the States General . From 1978 to 1981 he was also the successor to Karl Czernetz President of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe .
