The Hansa House (Sophienberg 1) is the station district of Hof scoring heritage building .

It is a neo - baroque four - storey building with a flat hipped roof from around 1900. It is located as a corner house at the confluence of Sophienberg and Königstraße. The characteristics include bricks with house integrations, central projections and corner changes . The building is listed as object D-4-64-000-259.

The Hansa-Haus was originally built as a hotel with a restaurant. At that time there were Hansa houses between the train station and the center in many large cities. Business people should meet there and close their deals, just like today on an online platform. After the death of the first owner, his wife could not hold the building in the following years of crisis and it was sold. As a result, the Reiher and Wölfel families were owners. The Wölfel hand embroidery company was founded and now employs up to 60 people. With the reunification and the opening of the borders , hand embroidery became unprofitable and closed. The owners were split into owner associations by inheritance. In 2007 Stefan Cruz and Hermann Klie bought the house. In 2008, Stefan Cruz was paid out and Hermann Klie created a concept for the renovation in accordance with the listed buildings, which lasted four years. The style of the house was restored as much as possible and new technology was integrated. Today the Hansa house is completely heated by underfloor heating using an air heat pump. The new windows are designed in accordance with listed buildings and the electrical and sanitary installations have been completely renewed.
