Hanseatenweg

The Hanseatenweg is a hiking and cycling route that connects the Hanseatic cities of Hamburg and Szczecin . It is intended to remind of the importance of the Hanseatic League in the Middle Ages and the early modern period and to serve European cooperation. It was initiated by a project of the North Regional Association of Friends of Nature in Germany .

Routing

The not yet completely marked path leads from Hamburg via Lübeck , the Mecklenburg Hanseatic cities of Wismar and Rostock , the West Pomeranian Hanseatic cities of Stralsund and Greifswald to the rear Pomeranian Hanseatic city of Stettin. East of Greifswald, a branch leads via the Hanseatic city of Wolgast and the island of Usedom to Swinoujscie .
