Hansjörg Schmitthenner
Hansjörg Schmitthenner (born November 20, 1908 in Colmar , † May 26, 1993 in Munich ) was a German dramaturge and for many years head of the radio play department of the Bavarian Broadcasting Corporation (BR).
Life
Hansjörg Schmitthenner, son of the architect Paul Schmitthenner , first studied medicine, then drama with Otto Falckenberg . After the war he initially worked as a publishing editor and freelance writer until he started working as an audio dramaturge at BR in 1950. Until 1974 he was head of the radio play department.
Hansjörg Schmitthenner has made a name for himself primarily as a promoter of the experimental radio play. The authors he has sponsored include Wolfgang Weyrauch , Ernst Jandl and Paul Pörtner .
