Hanspeter Uster (born February 8, 1958 in Baar ; entitled to live there ) is a Swiss politician ( Greens ).

biography

Raised in Baar, he studied from 1977 to 1982 law at the Universities of Geneva and Zurich and graduated with a licentiate from. After a court internship from 1983 to 1985, he was admitted to the bar and notarial office of the Canton of Zug . Until 1990 he worked as a lawyer in Zurich and Zug as well as in the legal information collective of lawyers .

He started his political career in 1975. He was active in a student movement at the cantonal school, the Trotskyist Revolutionary Marxist League (RML) and, from 1980, in its successor organization, the Socialist Workers' Party (SAP). In 1986 he was a founding member of the Socialist Green Alternative .

From 1986 to 1990 he was a member of the Cantonal Council . On November 11, 1990, he was elected to the Government Council and served as Justice and Police Director. When Zug massacre in 2001, he was seriously injured. He resigned in 2006 and has been active on various bodies ever since. So he was z. B. elected by the Federal Assembly to the supervisory authority over the Federal Prosecutor's Office (AB-BA) , from 2013 as a member and 2019/2020 as its president.
