Haplochrois gelechiella is a butterfly ( moth ) fromthe grass leaf miner family (Elachistidae).
features
The moths reach a wingspan of 12 to 14 millimeters. The head is creamy white and pale light brown on the sides and behind. The antennae are ringed pale ocher and brown. Thorax and tegulae are pale beige-gray. The forewings are shiny beige-gray and are heavily speckled with brownish-gray scales . The fringed scales are pale gray at the apex and ocher gray towards the inner edge of the wing. The hind wings shine gray.
The genital fittings of the males resemble that of Haplochrois albanica , but the distal knob-shaped ends of the gnathos are covered with coarser spines. The valves are more rectangular, the anellus lobes are wider and rounded and have a semicircular indentation at the back.
The genital armature of the females differs from that of the females of H. albanica by the slimmer Apophyses anteriores, by the narrower and U-shaped edge of the genital plate as well as by the shape of the sign, which is surrounded by a more sclerotized edge.
