Haplochrois ochraceella is a butterfly ( moth ) fromthe grass leaf miner family (Elachistidae).

features

The moths reach a wingspan of 10 to 15 millimeters. The head is pale ocher yellow. The antennae are ringed yellowish white and brown. Thorax and tegulae are yellow ocher. The forewings are yellow ocher, ocher-brown scales are interspersed at the apex . The fringed scales are ocher yellow. The hind wings are gray, roughly scaled in the males, but somewhat finer in the females.

In the males, the distal knob-shaped ends of the gnathos are smaller than twice the length of the tegumen . The blades are small and rounded. The anellus lobes are elongated, widened distally and triangular, and provided with three short rows of spines and a straight spine on the inside. The saccus is narrow distally and 2/3 as long as the tegumen. The aedeagus is straight and has a curved finger-shaped apical protrusion .

In females, the apophyses are very short and almost straight. The genital plate is semicircular and has strong side edges. The ductus bursae forms two loops before it joins the corpus bursae. The corpus bursae is almost circular. The signum is irregularly triangular and has a prickly bar in the middle.

Haplochrois ochraceella is widespread in southern Europe and has also been found locally in Central Europe in recent decades .

biology

So far nothing is known about the biology of the species. The few known specimens were collected from early June to early August.
