Happy Nation is a pop song and the third single by the Swedish pop band Ace of Base . It was first released in December 1992 in the Nordic countries on the Danish label Mega Records on their first album Happy Nation of the same name . It was first released as a single in Sweden in April 1993 and in the rest of Europe in July 1993.
Style and content
Happy Nation is a mid-tempo dance-pop song with strong influences from reggae and euro house . It was written by Jonas "Joker" Berggren and Ulf "Buddha" Ekberg and contains both English and Latin texts. Berggren sings thefirst verse in Latin and Linn Berggren sings the rest as lead singer. The song was also produced by Berggren and Ekberg.

The song was first released on the album in 1992 and released internationally in 1993. In the fall of 1993 the song developed into an international chart hit and reached number one in the singles charts of Denmark , Finland , France and Israel in 1993 and 1994 . In 2008 the song was re-recorded by Ace of Base for a remix album.
The single reached number seven in Germany and was awarded the gold record .
