Don't Turn Around is a pop song originally recorded by American singer Tina Turner in 1986. Written the piece of was Diane Warren and Albert Hammond . In 1986 Don't Turn Around appeared as the B-side of the hit single Typical Male . Warren was disappointed that Don't Turn Around never appeared on a Turner album .

To this day , numerous artists have covered Don't Turn Around . Kim Goody released a first cover version in 1987. In 1988 Bonnie Tyler followed with another version on her album Notes from America , while the soul singer Luther Ingram published his interpretation of the song in the same year .

The band Aswad heard Ingram's version and recorded a cover version, which reached number 1 on the UK charts in March 1988 .

Loretta Chandler sang the song in an episode of the television series Fame .

In 1992, Neil Diamond covered Don't Turn Around .

In early 1994, the Swedish pop group Ace of Base recorded their own version of the song with reggae influences. It became a worldwide hit and the most successful version of Don't Turn Around to date , reaching number 4 on the Billboard Hot 100 and number 5 on the UK charts in 1994 . In 2017 Milow also covered the song.
