Flowers is the third studio album by Ace of Base . It was released in July 1998 on Mega Records in Europe. In August and September 1998, respectively, another issue with new songs and remixes appeared as Cruel Summer in the USA and Japan . Flowers reached number three in Germany and high chart positions in many, especially European countries. It reached number one on the charts in Switzerland and Greece . In the UK and in Austria it reached 15th.

Emergence

The album was recorded from September 1997 to early 1998 with numerous producers, in addition to Jonas Berggren and Ulf Ekberg , these included Per Adebratt, John Amatiello, Douglas Carr, Cutfather & Joe, Tommy Ekman, Ole Evenrud, Charles Fisher, Stephen Hague, Johnny Jam & Delgado and StoneStream.

reception

The Allmusic website gave the album three out of five stars. Jose F. Promis compared the two editions and found the production of the US version Cruel Summer to be "meatier".

The album achieved a gold record in Switzerland and the UK .
