Har Chewron ( Hebrew מוֹעָצָה אֵזוֹרִית הַר חֶבְרוֹן) is an Israeli regional administration in the southern Judean Mountains. It includes 15 settlements . The seat of the administration is in Otni'el.

location

The Har Chewron regional association is located in the south of the West Bank , in Israel's Judea and Samaria . Kirjat Arba is surrounded by the territory of the regional administration, but forms an independent local government .

history

During the Six Day War of 1967, Israel occupied what is now the regional administration. Most of the Israeli settlements were established in the early 1980s. In 1983 a separate administrative unit was established for them.

Since 2008 there are three settlements, Eschkolot, Sansana and Beit Yatir on the western, Israeli side of the barrier . The remaining settlements are scattered between the Palestinian territories .
