Harald Evers (Author)
Harald Evers (born September 22, 1957 in Munich ; † November 30, 2006 in Kirchdorf am Inn ) was a German novelist and computer game writer .
Life
At a young age Evers began to write his first stories on his father's portable typewriter.
For him, the path to becoming a “full-fledged” author took the detour of the computer game industry . His pen sprang the at Software 2000 published Adventure Games " The hour glass ", " The Cathedral ", " Hexuma " and the point-and-click adventure " The Cave World saga - The Bright Crystal " and "Archibald Apple Brooks Adventure". His second game, "The Cathedral", was successful enough that he turned the plot into a novel.
Evers also worked as a translator on the German localization of some computer games such as “ Dreamfall ”, the successor to the very successful point-and-click adventure “ The Longest Journey ”.
Evers became known as an author through “ The Cave World Saga ”. Two cycles (of the planned three), each with four volumes, have been published. The books belong to the genre of science fantasy . The first volume "The Brotherhood of Yoor" was published in 2001, and in June 2005 the second cycle, "The Magic of the Cave World", was completed.
On November 30, 2006, Harald Evers died of a heart attack at the age of 49 .
